Hi, How Are You? Day

March 29  |  11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  |  Nebraska Union

A friendly question can start a meaningful conversation about mental health. Take a few minutes at midday Tuesday engage in dialogue about mental health and suicide prevention with four campus offices that are here to help all students. The event is very casual - play a few activities and sign up to win prizes.

Bridging the Political Divide: Optimism for Moving Beyond Polarization with Tania Israel

March 29  |  4 p.m.  |  Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center, Unity Room

Political polarization in the U.S. is at a record high. As anger, fear, distortions, and social media drive the wedge ever deeper, what hope is there for maintaining connection within families, friendships, workplaces, and communities? Dr. Tania Israel, Professor of Counseling Psychology at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, can offer solutions. Grounded in evidence, experience and skills, she will share practical and research-based strategies to help bridge the political divide. Her approach to building understanding will leave you informed, optimistic and empowered to take action.

My Body Is Not a Project

March 30  |  12 p.m.  |  Two locations: Nebraska Union and Nebraska East Union

Share what you love or appreciate about your body to help promote body positivity. Art canvases will be set up outside the Nebraska Unions on City and East Campuses for students to participate. Resources on body image and eating disorder awareness also will be available.

Kickball Tournament

April 1  |  6 to 11 p.m.  | Campus Rec Center's Cook Pavilion

Remember those fun days of school recess or P.E.? It’s the same game, only now with adults. Intramural Sports is hosting an exciting one-night tournament for UNL students. $25 entry fee per team. Pre-register by Friday, March 31.

Stroll Off

April 2  |  7 p.m.  |  Campus Rec Center, Coliseum

Enjoy a full evening of synchronized movement dance performances by UNL student groups with OASIS, the Multicultural Greek Council and National Pan-Hellenic Council. This will be the annual Stroll Off's triumphant return to campus and live performance since the start of the pandemic.
