There are numerous resources on campus to help you succeed at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and the best way to make the most of your time as a student is to get involved and find your niche. Fortunately, there are several places on and around campus that offer greater access to tools and services at no cost or at a discounted rate for students.

Consider these nine memberships that cover everything from fitness and well-being to innovation, information, and entertainment.


BikeLNK

If you don't have your own bike to get around, consider using Lincoln's bike-share system with numerous station locations around central Lincoln, including three stations on city campus and two on east campus.

UNL students are eligible for a $25 Aluminum Access membership, which includes unlimited 1-hour trips for 365 days. Use the promo code UNLBIKES2223 and your unl.edu email address when you sign up.

You can also download the BCycle app to rent bikes via your phone.


Friends of the Ross

Support the Mary Riepma Ross Theater and its programs and join the Friends of the Ross for discounted admission, complimentary passes, a punch card good for free movies and popcorn, and invitations to member events. A one-year student membership is $45. Learn more and see what’s playing at The Ross.


Group Fitness All-Class Pass

Get access to all of Campus Recreation’s group exercise classes on city and east campus throughout the semester with an All-Class Fitness Pass. Semester passes are $20 and can be purchased online with a credit card or your NCard.

Not sure if it’s for you? Campus Rec members can attend one free class per semester. See the full schedule of classes and visit the Member Services desk to utilize your one-time pass.


Climbing Pass at Outdoor Adventures Center

Complete and pass the Climbing Basics Class for unlimited access to the rock climbing wall at Outdoor Adventures. The two-hour class costs $20 for students and will get you up to speed on all the technical skills you’ll need to know to keep climbing consistently. After taking the class and passing the included skills check, you will have unlimited access to climbing during open hours for one year.

New to climbing and want to try it out? Every enrolled UNL student at is offered one free climb each semester.


CashCourse

CashCourse is a new online resource that offers worksheets on budgeting, informational videos, calculators and a budgeting wizard to answer your money questions and help you build a strong foundation for your financial future.

Create a free account by entering your first and last name, your Husker email and selecting “Nebraska” and “University of Nebraska.”

Nebraska Innovation Studio

The Maker Studio on Nebraska Innovation Campus is like a gym but with power tools. Members pay a monthly fee to use the tools and facilities to make everything from pens, textiles and jewelry to furniture, sculptures and more. Members are welcome to run businesses, make prototypes, or just have fun.

NIS membership is open to all UNL staff, faculty, and students and the surrounding Nebraska community. NIS is a do-it-yourself membership-based workshop.

Start your passion project with a month, semester or year-long membership.


Student Readership Program

The Student Readership Program is an ASUN service that provides free, digital copies of Wall Street Journal, the Omaha World Herald, the Lincoln Journal Star, and The New York Times. Newspapers can be accessed online using your UNL credentials on each publisher's site, as follows:

Morrill Hall

While NCard holders can visit the campus museum for free, a $55 individual membership gets you unlimited access to each of the UNSM museum locations, including Morrill Hall, the Ashfall Fossil Beds in Royal, NE, and the Trailside Museum in Crawford, NE.

You'll also have access to hundreds of science centers across the United States through the ASTC (Association of Science and Technology Centers) Passport Program.

And you will benefit from discounted admission rates on Mueller Planetarium shows and annual events like Valentine Wine & Dine.


Student Life / Student Alumni Association

Make the most of your time as a student and beyond with a Student Life membership from Nebraska Alumni Association. Student life members become automatic members of Student Alumni Association, which helps students explore campus traditions, hosts exclusive social events like game day pep rallies with free swag, and provides networking opportunities with nearly 25,000 alumni members.

Upon graduation, you'll automatically become a member of the alumni association, ensuring a lifelong connection to the university and fellow alumni.
