Bike Fest

Celebrate biking as a sustainable and affordable mode of transportation with a variety of community and campus organizations. Enjoy a bike-powered smoothie machine, a mobile bike shop, and sustainability organizations. Students will learn about bicycle resources and amenities, both on campus and around Lincoln.

Nika King

Actress, comedian, write, and mental health advocate Nika King stars as Leslie Bennett, on the Emmy-winning HBO series, EUPHORIA, opposite her television daughters, Zendaya and Storm Reid. In this role, King pulls from her early life watching family members battle addiction and triumphantly overcoming. It is from that resolve and resilience that King offers a dramatic perspective and newfound depth in this character.

In her new lecture presentation, King tackles the subject of mental health, looking at depression, anxiety, and the possible ultimate collapse to alcohol and drugs for self-medication. She will share personal stories of how she has introduced exercise, a healthy diet and meditation to her daily activities, and discuss with brutal honesty what we all can do to achieve mental happiness.

Visit and talk with the numerous campus offices & resources that keep our campus community safe. Students can speak with individuals and receive information about mental health; property safety; consent; healthy relationships; alcohol safety; hazing prevention; and fire safety.

Student Insurance 101

Eat free pizza and learn all about the university’s student health insurance plan, including how health insurance works in the U.S.; enrollment deadlines, premium rates and other important details; how to save money by using the plan at the University Health Center; and what you need to know if you’re automatically enrolled and more.

Basics Barre

This workshop will help participants understand the basics of Barre and the purpose of the format as a form of exercise and physical training. Learn about proper body alignment, increasing intensity, and mental strength.

Open REACH Training for Students

September 9  |  11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  |  University Health Center, Room 126

Suicide prevention is a shared campus responsibility. REACH is an interactive 90-minute training designed to help the university community prevent suicide by teaching faculty, staff and students how to: recognize warning signs; engage with empathy; ask directly about suicide; communicate hope; help suicidal individuals to access care and treatment.

Participants who attend the full 90-minute training will receive a certificate and a REACH lapel pin. Register to participate.

LIFE IN LINCOLN: Meet & Greet

LIFE IN LINCOLN is a weekly series every Friday evening for UNL students to gather and enjoy a nearby activity or tour to sample and learn about the local Lincoln culture, neighborhoods, and people.

This evening's Meet & Greet is the official kickoff and orientation to the LIFE IN LINCOLN series. Join the LIL host Reshell R. for a relaxed social hour with other Huskers. Light refreshments will be serve and attendees will have a chance to meet-and-mingle with each other.

Sober Tailgate

9/11 Memorial

In the heart of city campus, American flags will be displayed in the green space to observe the 9/11 anniversary. Students and the university community are welcome to visit throughout the day for quiet reflection and commemoration.
