The Musical Chairs ride and Ferris wheel light up the East Stadium Plaza during the 2022 Cornstock Festival. The 2023 festival is 4 to 8 p.m. Oct. 27, again on the plaza. The event is free and open to the public. [Craig Chandler | University Communication and Marketing]

Homecoming at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is much more than an autumn football game and student royalty. There are activities each day for entertainment, giving back, and showing your Husker spirit.

Here are the great events that every student should seek out.

Memorial Stadium Birthday Party

October 23  |  11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  |  Memorial Stadium

Celebrate a century of Saturdays at Memorial Stadium with birthday cake, a stroll onto the field and birthday wishes from leaders on campus.

Showtime! at the Coliseum

October 23  |  7 p.m. doors open; 8 p.m. performances start  |  Coliseum

Watch and enjoy a fast-paced and lively show as student organizations, fraternities, sororities and residence halls battle against each other with 2-minute group performances full of music, dance, and theatrics for Homecoming competition points and ultimate bragging rights.

Food Truck Frenzy

October 23  |  9 p.m. East Stadium Loop Parking Lot (outside of Coliseum)

After the Showtime performances, join the University Program Council and the Chancellor’s Commission on the Status of People of Color, for free treats from Rutabaga's, Hog Wild Pit Bar-B-Q, and 402 Creamery.

Blood Drive

Daily, October 23–26

This is the largest annual blood drive in the state of Nebraska. Spots remain open for students to donate. The donation site for Monday is Nebraska East Union on East Campus. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are at the Nebraska Union on City Campus. Sign up here.

Cornhole Tournament

October 25  |  5 p.m.  |  Meier Commons (green space north of Nebraska Union)

Cheer on your favorite team-of-two representing student organizations as they battle against other pairs of two in the classic lawn game of cornhole (a.k.a. bags). The top three placing teams will receive Homecoming Competition points.

Multicultural Social

October 26  |  5 to 7 p.m.  |  Wick Alumni Center

Students can connect with multicultural alumni during this free reception and program to recognize recognize alumni who have made contributions of time, talent and/or treasure to support the respective RSO, communities of color or students served by those communities Registration is requested.

Cornstock Festival, Homecoming Parade, and Jester Competition

October 27  |  4 to 8 p.m.  |  Memorial Stadium East Plaza

Enjoy food trucks, a Ferris wheel, live music, and more. The annual Homecoming Parade starts at 6 p.m. Cheer on student organizations, community groups, homecoming royalty, the Cornhusker Marching Band, and some special guests as they perform. Participants will include floats, golf carts, and performances. The parade route travels along Vine Street and ends at the Cornstock Festival.

At 7 p.m. turn your attention to the stage to watch Husker students perform and compete in the Jester Competition.

Homecoming Lawn Displays

October 27 & 28

Walk through campus to check out the Homecoming lawn displays from fraternities and sororities participating in the annual competition. All displays include this year's theme THROUGH THESE GATES: 100 Years of Saturdays at Memorial Stadium. Displays will remain all weekend.
