Pumpkin Carving Contest

7 to 9 p.m. October 11 @ Willa Cather Dining Complex, Red Cloud Rooms B & C

Gather all your ghosts and ghouls to carve, craft, and compete for your pumpkin to win prizes, including a fall snack pack, Halloween goodies basket, and a Husker pack full of college tools and necessities. Pumpkins are provided. Bring your best carving skills and be ready for a hauntingly good time.

Free for all UNL students. Hosted by Residence Hall Association.

Nightmare on R Street

9 p.m. October 11 & 12 @ Phi Delta Theta (1545 R St)

Benefiting the Live Like Lou Foundation
A spine-chilling and philanthropic extravaganza that promises to leave you both terrified and inspired. This hauntingly immersive experience is not your typical haunted house - it's a meticulously crafted labyrinth of fear that takes place on R Street. Designed to send shivers down your spine, the event features a sinister mix of eerie sets, terrifying actors, and unexpected scares at every twist and turn.

The most remarkable aspect is all the screams and adrenaline-pumping moments serve a greater purpose – to support the Live Like Lou foundation. Attendees can confront their deepest fears while knowing that their participation directly contributes to raising funds for ALS research and assistance.

Hocus Pocus Movie Night

5 p.m. October 12 @ Love Library South, Room 102

Whether you’re a fan of the Sanderson sisters or just looking for a break from midterm studying, this is an event you won’t want to miss. Bring your friends, make new ones, and let’s conjure up some fun.

Free to all first gen students and allies. Hosted by First-Generation Student Club.

Ross Fright Fest

Fridays and Sundays in October @ Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center

A new month-long film festival, celebrating the Halloween season with twice-weekly screenings of classic, campy, thrilling, surreal, and unsettling horror films.

Scarlet and Screams

7:30 to 10 p.m. October 20 @ Nebraska East Union

This annual event (formerly called Husker Haunts) offers a fun-tastic night of indoor Halloween-themed activities and treats, all in one location. Wear a favorite Halloween costume and bring your crew for a Costume Contest w/ prizes; a haunted house; and a craft project.

Free for UNL students with Event Pass. Hosted by Campus Nightlife and Student Leadership, Involvement, & Community Engagement.

Mind & Craft Halloween Sale Fundraiser

11 a.m. to 2 p.m. October 23, 25, 27, 30 @ Nebraska Union

The RSO is selling handmade items, keychains, earrings, stuffed animals and more - all themed for Halloween. Visit their Instagram (@mindandcraftunl) for more details

CookWell Class: Taste of Mexico

5:30 to 7 p.m. October 26 @ Rec & Wellness Center, Wellness Kitchen

An interactive cooking class celebrating Dia De Los Muertos. Recipes include Chicken Tortilla Soup; Chiles Rellenos; Mexican Fruit Cups.

Preregister for this activity by October 23. Hosted by Campus Recreation.

Night of the Living Drag Show

8 p.m. October 27 @ Nebraska Union, Centennial Room

Student performers lip-sync to popular songs in two acts for the end-of-the-semester Halloween-themed drag show. A short intermission will take place between the acts.

Open to the public. There is no entry fee, yet attendees are asked to bring a nonperishable food item or personal hygiene product to be donated to Husker Pantry. Hosted by Spectrum UNL and Gender and Sexuality Center.

Little Monster Mash

5:30 to 7:30 p.m. October 31 @ Nebraska Union, 3rd Floor

An evening of Halloween activities for students and children of all ages. Enjoy painting pumpkin-shaped stress balls; a photobooth; cookie decorating; and other fun activities provided by various UNL offices. Attendees will leave with Halloween-themed goodies.

Free for UNL students, faculty, and staff with children. Hosted by Gender and Sexuality Center's program Students with Children.

Monster Mash MixxedFit

8 to 8:50 p.m. October 31 @ Campus Rec Center, Fitness Room

A group fitness class event. Groove your way in this Halloween-themed MixxedFit class. Costumes are encouraged, and get ready for a thrilling and chilling workout.
