Monday, July 6, 2020 Re-opening: Bookstore, unions, rec centers, library and more

On July 1, the general seating and lounge areas - and the Starbucks - reopen in both Nebraska Unions. More spaces across campus open July 6.

Campus Recreation centers — including the Rec and Wellness Center on East Campus — will reopen on June 15 after being shutdown due to COVID-19 concerns. The centers will feature an array of safety precautions.

The reopening on June 15 comes after months of planning and consulting with resources from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, University of Nebraska Medical Center Higher Education Recovery Checklist and American College Health Association Consideration for Reopening Institutions of Higher Education.

Friday, May 15, 2020 Huskers tally 2,962 miles on foot in the Virtual Run Challenge

In five weeks, 117 UNL students, staff and faculty logged enough miles to travel the equivalent distance from Chicago, IL to Reykjavik, Iceland. The challenge - hosted by Intramural Sports - featured a series of distances for Huskers to complete: a 5k, 10k, half-marathon, and a marathon.

It's the last running challenge - the Finals Week 5k.

Keep active and virtually connected to fellow Huskers with the last event in the Intramural Sports 5-week run challenge. Starting Monday, May 4, you can run, jog, or walk the Finals Week 5K for a chance to win an Intramural Sports champion shirt.

Friday, April 17, 2020 Bikes to be held through fall

Given the unanticipated moves that took place due to COVID-19 this spring, more than 100 bicycle owners may have forgotten to retrieve their property from campus bike racks.

To help prevent theft and vandalism, University Housing and University Police will inventory and move bikes that have not been placed in “safe racks” by May 8. Bikes will be placed in a secure location and need be claimed prior to September 28, 2020.
