E-sports leagues organized for students during COVID-19

Tuesday, March 17, 2020 E-sports leagues organized for students during COVID-19

Beginning March 22, UNL's Intramural Sports will connect Huskers together via weekly leagues to play the popular esport games FIFA 20, NHL 20, NBA 2K, Rocket League, MLB The Show 20, and Madden 20.

Three easy steps to register & play:

1. Go to the IM Leagues portal and log in to your account*.

2. Choose Intramural Sports in the menu bar.

3.  Scroll to Esports and register yourself for any games you want to play. Your team name should be your gamer tag so opponents can search and add you.

* Any UNL student, staff, and faculty can create an account with their MyRED credentials.

The first sign-up deadline is 11:55 p.m. March 22; first games begin March 23. Leagues play Monday to Sunday at your convenience. Each Monday morning, registered players are sent game-specific instructions for that week’s games. Leagues begin anew every Monday. New participants can register at any time.

Championship t-shirts are awarded to multiple high-performing participants every week of play.

Remote esport leagues are a brand-new Intramural Sports activity as an option for Huskers to engage with each other between breaks in their remote courses and while practicing social distancing. Leagues and games will evolve based on input and feedback from players.
