Eating Disorders Awareness Week, Feb. 22-25

Friday, February 19, 2021 Eating Disorders Awareness Week, Feb. 22-25

The transition to college can be challenging. During difficult times, one’s coping strategies can be depleted, sometimes resulting in changes to control eating patterns and/or perception of appearance. During Eating Disorders Awareness Week, Feb. 22-25, the UNL Nebraska Eating Disorder Network Student Association (UNL NEDN) invites all Huskers to learn about the warning signs and available resources for disordered eating or eating disorder behaviors.

“We hope the week provides students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to gain more information and resources about eating disorders and body image concerns,” said Himani Patel, president of UNL NEDN. “We also hope this is an opportunity for individuals to connect with our RSO and learn ways to support one another on and off campus.”

Cosponsored by Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), the awareness week includes conversations on mindful eating and sessions sharing techniques to cope with anxiety and stress.
