If you're staying close to campus over the break, there are plenty of events and activities to build your own unique staycation right here in Lincoln.


Husker Women’s Tennis  |  March 10 & 17

You have two chances to cheer on the team over the break, against Wichita State March 10 and Michigan March 17 at the Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center. Claim your free student ticket.


Speedway Motors Museum of American Speed  |  March 10-11, 13, 17-18

Known as the #1 attraction for car lovers, the Speedway Motors Museum of American Speed displays over 600 historically significant engines and over 150 vehicle displays throughout the museum. Some featured galleries inside include the ‘Indy Room,’ ‘Open Wheel,’ and ‘Show Cars.’ College students can visit the museum for $10 with a student ID.


Husker Baseball  |  March 10-12, 14, 16-19

Catch a ball game at Haymarket Park as the Huskers play three different opponents during the break. Claim your free student ticket the Monday before the game through your student ticket account. Grab a $1 hot chocolate at the game against Omaha March 14 or try your luck March 17 for the St. Patrick's Day t-shirt giveaway.


Lincoln Community Playhouse  |  March 10-12, 17-19

The community theatre will put on its production of Sweeney Todd, with multiple performances each weekend over spring break. Tickets are $15 for students. Purchase online or at the box office.


Husker Women’s Gymnastics  |  March 11

Wear your best retro gear to support the team as they compete against Denver and Air Force in the Master's Classic at Devaney Center. Claim your free student ticket.


Sheldon Museum of Art  |  March 14-18

Get inspired with a tour of the current exhibitions on display at Sheldon Museum of Art. X: A Decade of Collecting, 2012–2022 offers a snapshot of how the museum’s collection has continued to evolve since its opening 60 years ago. Continue your tour outdoors and explore the outdoor Sheldon Sculpture Garden. Sheldon Museum of Art is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and admission is always free.


Morrill Hall  |  March 14-19

Explore the museum's four floors of permanent exhibits like People of the Plains, the Mesozoic Gallery and Bizarre Beasts or check out the temporary Operation Pollination exhibit that explores the secret lives of pollinators and the plants that depend on them for survival. UNL NCard holders can visit Morrill Hall for free.


Husker Men’s Gymnastics  |  March 17

The team will take on Ohio State and Greenville in their Tri-Meet at Devaney Center. Claim your free student ticket.


Lincoln Stars Hockey  |  March 18

Watch the Stars face off against the Omaha Lancers 7 p.m. March 18 at the Ice Box. Students can get tickets for $7.56 with a student ID.


Ross Media Arts Center  |  Ongoing

Catch a documentary or independent film at the two-screen theater on campus. One Fine Morning and Met: Lohengrin will be playing during spring break. Enter the (R)Oscars 2023 challenge and submit your picks for each Oscar category before March 12 for a chance to be crowned Film Buff of the year and receive a year's supply of passes to the Ross.


Nebraska State Capitol  |  Ongoing

Take a free guided tour of the state capitol building, offered at various times each day, or walk the perimeter sidewalks and use the self-guided exterior tour.


Pioneers Park & Nature Center  |  Ongoing

Explore acres of tallgrass prairie, woodlands, wetlands, an environmental education center and wildlife sanctuary at Pioneers Park. Eight miles of hiking trails wind through various habitats and take visitors past non-releasable raptor exhibits and a small herd of bison.


Robber’s Cave  |  Ongoing

Robber’s Cave is Lincoln’s oldest tourist destination, and the city’s one-and-only underground attraction. Regular admission is $18 and tours must be booked in advance by calling 402-975-0598.


Escape Lincoln  |  Ongoing

Test your puzzle-solving skills and get a group together to book an escape room. Cost is $25/person for a 60-minute experience.


Craft Axe Throwing  |  Ongoing

Try your hand at axe throwing, a game that anyone can play - no experience required. Score points by throwing axes at a giant dartboard-like target. The closer you get to the bullseye, the more points earned. Reserve a lane for $22/hr.


Wax Buffalo - Make Your Own Candle  |  Ongoing

Pop in to the Candle Lab to create your own unique scented wax candle. Cost is $38 per experience. No reservation required.
