Two mocktail drink recipes to celebrate the Spring Game

Sunday, April 21, 2024 Two mocktail drink recipes to celebrate the Spring Game

An exciting annual event is upon us again - the Spring Game - when students and fans rally together to show support for the beloved Husker football team. This year's game kicks off at 11 a.m. April 27, 2024 in Memorial Stadium.

There is not a student tailgate lot for the Spring Game, so use the following tips to ensure you and your friends have an enjoyable and safe experience before, during, and after the game.

  1. With the early start time, avoid overindulging in alcohol before the game. Instead, enjoy a hearty breakfast and if you decide to drink, do so in moderation with just one or two beverages.
  2. For a fun twist, try a football-themed mocktails like the Gridiron Green Limeade or the End Zone Blush. These refreshing mocktails capture the spirit of the game without the alcohol buzz and each requires only three to four ingredients.
  3. As the game concludes close to 1 p.m., have a plan for what comes next. If your plans involve alcohol, employ the safety tips learned throughout this year:
    • Ensure you have a sober ride home.
    • Stick together with your friends when going out.
    • Alternate alcoholic drinks with non-alcoholic beverages.
    • Eat a meal before drinking.
    • Stay hydrated throughout the day.

Let's make this spring game a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Have a blast, stay safe, and take care of each other. Go Big Red!
