Guidelines in place to help RSOs host events in Fall 2020

Monday, August 10, 2020 Guidelines in place to help RSOs host events in Fall 2020

New event guidelines for clubs and organizations - including physical distancing policies - have been announced.

Student Involvement, in concert with Student Affairs, has developed RSO-specific guidelines to help clubs and organizations host successful events in fall 2020 so students can have the best campus experience possible while keeping the Nebraska community safe.  The guidelines can be found here: https://involved.unl.edu/rso-covid-19

This information will be updated as the situation evolves and changes. Keep an eye on NvolveU, the Student Involvement webpage and your RSO email for forthcoming updates and announcements.

Here are some quick considerations for Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs) to implement for fall 2020:

  • You're encouraged to conduct RSOs meetings virtually.
  • Your RSO special events can be done virtually, too. If you’re not sure how to host a virtual event, contact involved@unl.edu for assistance.
  • For any in-person events you are planning, regardless of size, your RSO needs to complete a Risk Assessment prior to the EPR. EPRs are required for in-person events and the risk assessment must be uploaded when you submit your EPR.
  • Events with 50 or more in-person participants require pre-approval from the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs.
  • In-person events must adhere to all University policies, including physical distancing and facial coverings.

If you have an idea for an RSO event but don’t know how to start planning, reach out to Student Involvement via email involved@unl.edu.  Their team can guide you in finding a way to safely host the event.
