Four Huskers, invited under the guise to discuss Women’s History Month as part of a University Communication video project, were surprised with letters from current and former students. The notes highlighted impacts the four have made on campus and beyond.

The forum is the second to be held by ASUN’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee. It will feature an open discussion based on selected real-life scenarios that happen on campus. The scenarios are intended to give participants insight into diversity and inclusion issues while also creating an opportunity for nonjudgemental dialogue. The forum is also an opportunity to ask questions and explore ways to improve diversity and inclusion at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

The University Honors Program, Student Affairs and Nebraska Extension are launching a new opportunity for students to gain valuable career experience while giving back to youth across the state.

Aaron Dueker, assistant director for sports programs with Campus Recreation, was recognized, among other things, for his dedication to inclusion. Specifically, he helped bring the Unified Special Olympics to the Nebraska campus and region.

Jenifer Manstedt, counselor at Counseling & Psychological Services and eating disorder coordinator, said she has noticed more University of Nebraska-Lincoln students reporting concerns with eating patterns and body image issues during the COVID-19 pandemic than prior to the pandemic.
