UPC Nebraska will present A Cappella Night at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 22 in the Nebraska Union Ballroom. The musical showcase will feature award-winning University of Nebraska–Lincoln student a cappella groups The Bathtub Dogs, Boots and Cats, Pitch Please, The Red Keys, Rocktavo and Take Note.

Friendships and conversations are brewing through weekly Coffee Talks at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Launched as a pilot project in April 2016 by Student Involvement, the program brings together domestic and international students to explore life on campus, cultures and anything else that comes to mind during hour-long chats in the Nebraska Union.

Five Nebraska state senators will discuss how to take part in civil discourse during a panel as part of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Peace + Civility Project.

When dining service manager Gina Guernsey began working with David Webb at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Selleck Dining Center, she said she knew his bright personality would be perfect for interacting with students. Now, Webb is a dining services associate known by students as “The Omelet Man.”

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln will convert the Selleck Dining Center into a more a la carte style, like a food court that will open in fall 2020.

A new on-campus program aims to provide free, identity-affirming clothing to students. JD McCown, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s LGBTQA+ Center assistant director, said the Lavender Closet officially opened in the LGBTQA+ Center on Monday, Nov. 4. The project uses donations to meet its goals to ensure access to identity-affirming clothing, reuse clothes in a sustainable manner and provide volunteer opportunities to students, according to the center’s website.

As part of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, the Husker Pantry is hosting an annual food drive Nov. 18-24. The drive aims is to collect 1,500 items to replenish inventory for students.
