University of Nebraska-Lincoln students can enjoy a relxing evening of paddle board and kayaking on April 12 and April 26 with the Outdoor Adventures Center.

Sunshine and warmer temperatures bring more chances for being outside. Outdoor Adventures and Intramural Sports have 10 activities lined up this month for Huskers to enjoy together.


Ice Cream Bike Rides

FOUR DATES:  5 to 7 p.m.  |  April 1, 8, 15, 22  |  Outdoor Adventures Center

A fun casual group ride to enjoy a tour of Lincoln by bicycle between City Campus and East Campus - topped off by ice cream at the end. Outdoor Adventures will provide you with a bike if you need one. Pre-registration required.


Coffee Bike Rides

FIVE DATES:  7:30 to 9:30 a.m.  |  April 2, 9, 16, 23, 30  |  Outdoor Adventures Center

A relaxed morning ride showcasing some bike paths around Lincoln. For each ride participants will find a good place to meet to grab some coffee (tea, or other morning beverages), then head back to campus in time for all but the earliest classes. Bikes, helmets, and drink are provided. Pre-registration required.


Intermediate Mountain Biking

3 to 7 p.m.  |  April 7  |  Outdoor Adventures Center

Spend time on the trails and take your biking to the next level. Outdoor Adventures staff will teach the basics of mountain biking, so no prior experience is required to “shread it” it over the 14 miles of dirt and tree-lined trails with scenic views of the Platte River. Pre-registration required.


Overnight Bike Camping

April 10-11  |  Outdoor Adventures Center

An adventurous weekend getaway! This zero-emissions bike tour departs from the Outdoor Adventures Center and takes riders along a crushed limestone trail to one of Nebraska’s tranquil state recreation areas. Participants will carry food and camping gear on their bikes for a truly self-contained overnight ride. Pre-registration required.


Evening Paddle

TWO DATES:  5 to 7:30 p.m.  |  April 12 and April 26  |  Outdoor Adventures Center

Enjoy a blissful evening of kayak and SUP (stand up paddleboard) on a local lake with other casual adventurers. No previous experience is required; paddling gear is provided. Pre-registration required.


Singles Golf Tournament

2 p.m.  |  April 18  |  Highlands Golf Course

$25 per player. Pre-register by April 15 in the Intramural Sports office inside the Campus Rec Center. The winner of each division will receive an Intramural Champion t-shirt.


Bike & Paddle

TWO DATES:  9 a.m to 4 p.m.  |  April 18 and May 1  |  Outdoor Adventures Center

A full day in the outdoors. A bike ride from City Campus takes participants through the heart of Lincoln along the bike trails to Holmes Lake, where the group will enjoy stand-up paddleboards and kayaks on the water. The day ends with a return bike ride back to the Outdoor Adventures Center. No previous experience is required; biking and paddling gear is provided. Pre-registration required.


Lake Meet-Up

TWO DATES:  5 to 7:30 p.m.  |  April 21 and April 28

Meet Outdoor Adventures at a local lake, where they will have paddling gear waiting for you to get out on the water. The OA team will teach you everything to get out on the water and have a good time. Pre-registration required.


Disc Golf Tournament

2 p.m.  |  April 25  |  Roper Park Disc Golf Course

A free walk-up event. Sign up on site prior to the event or sign up in advance at the Intramural Sports office inside the Campus Rec Center. The winner of each division will receive an Intramural Champion t-shirt.


2 v 2 Sand Volleyball Weekend Tournament

Friday, April 30 and Sunday, May 2  |  14th & Avery Rec Area and 18th & S Rec Area

$25 per two-person team. Pre-register by April 29 in the Intramural Sports office inside the Campus Rec Center. The winners of each division will receive Intramural Champion t-shirts.
