Thursday, May 11, 2023 Suh scholarship helps Tharp flourish in pursuit of engineering degree

Andre Tharp III, an electrical engineering major with a minor in computer science from Portland, Oregon, and Sacramento, California, is heavily involved on campus, from joining a fraternity to serving as a leader in recognized student organizations that allow him to build his engineering skills. With financial aid from the Ndamukong Suh Engineering Scholarship, Tharp has flourished in Nebraska Engineering. Keep reading to learn more about his experience and watch a month in his life.

[Daily Nebraskan] St. Rita’s Amazing Traveling Bookstore traveled to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for students to find new books to read for their curious minds. Rita is currently on a 12-stop tour across the United States, and Lincoln was the third stop, which was set up by UPC Nebraska.

Tuesday, April 4, 2023 Greek organizations put on Backpack in Black philanthropy event

[Daily Nebraskan] Four Interfraternity Council (IFC) fraternities came together to host Backpack in Black, a charity concert, at the Royal Grove. The event was put on by fraternities Beta Theta Pi, Phi Delta Theta, Sigma Phi Epsilon and Pi Kappa Alpha.

Monday, April 3, 2023 Students shave their hair for childhood cancer, raise over $9,000

[Daily Nebraskan] St. Baldrick’s Shave for the Brave event raised $9,190 for childhood cancer and had 14 University of Nebraska-Lincoln students shave their hair to spread awareness for childhood cancer.

[Daily Nebraskan] The Indian Students Association and RHA hosted the Holi festival on Saturday, April 1, 2023. Students and participants celebrated by eating traditional Indian cuisine, henna drawing, listening to music, and color throwing at the Cather green space. The celebration focused on the start of spring and participants throw color on each other to celebrate the holiday.

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln was named a 2023-24 Voter Friendly Campus, one of 258 campuses in 38 states and the District of Columbia by Fair Elections Center's, Campus Vote Project and , NASPA — Student Affairs Administrators.
