As 11 inches of snow piled up in Lincoln on Feb. 16, so did donations to Glow Big Red, setting records for the annual giving event for the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. In all, the campaign collected 5,185 gifts totaling $653,246.

Since the installation of two LFC biodigesters, UNL has gone above and beyond their sustainability goals — diverting 44,000 kg (98,000 lb) of food waste from landfills in the first year of deployment.

Welcoming students, faculty and staff with a warm smile and joyous laughter, Melissa Wulf enjoys her daily interactions as she assists with testing accommodations and oversees the SSD Testing Center in Louise Pound Hall.

Wulf has served in her role as testing center coordinator for more than 23 years. From proctoring exams in overcrowded testing rooms in Canfield to coordinating paper exams in the new testing center in Pound Hall, Wulf’s role continues to evolve based on students’ needs, yet her passion for creating equitable academic experiences remains steadfast.

Tina Pham spent the morning of Dec. 16 hauling boxes and carts full of donations from each campus dining center to the Cather Dining Center, where four additional volunteers were helping to organize and load the items into three vehicles.

Faculty and staff can get a discounted membership for the month of January as a part of a “New Year, New You” promotion. Faculty and staff members qualify for an affiliate membership, normally priced at $41 per month. However, new members purchasing an affiliate pass for January 2023 will pay a promotional price of $23, an $18 savings.
