Students play glow golf under black lights in the Nebraska Union

On Thurs., Feb. 2, Campus NightLife hosted Union Take Over on the second floor of the Nebraska Union. An estimated 450 students enjoyed laser tag, glow-in-the-dark miniature golf, cupcake and tile decorating, a photo booth, and games of Family Feud led by The Daily Nebraskan. All activities were free for Nebraska students.

This was Campus NightLife’s second Union Take Over. The organization only made a few adjustments to last year’s activities, such as adding a craft area and printing photos from the photo booth instead of posting them online.

“There are many small changes we have implemented this year to have the event flow better and keep waiting times to a minimum for students,” said Campus NightLife member Jared Maguire.

Although the planning process for this year’s event was not as challenging, it still required a great attention to detail.

“Coordinating rooms, foods, crafts, sponsors, advertising, volunteers, and everything in between has been a long process that was in full swing by last November,” said Maguire.

Campus NightLife’s dedication to planning unique activities encouraged students to brave the cold weather to enjoy a night of fun with their peers.

“I’ve never done [laser tag] before,” said junior Jack Borden. “The main thing that caught my eye [on the posters for the event] was the glow golf, the laser tag and the word fun.”
