Electronic music duo Snakehips will perform at 8 p.m. Oct. 3 at the Lancaster Event Center for the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s free homecoming concert. Wet ground forced a move from the East Campus Mall.

The British duo, consisting of Oliver Lee and James Carter, has gained a following with its chart-topping remixes and unique sound — a contemporary take on old-school R&B, incorporating 1990s hip-hop and 1970s string samples. The group’s 2015 hit “All My Friends,” featuring Tinashe and Chance the Rapper, won an Ivor Novello Award for best contemporary song and has gone gold in seven countries and platinum in nine. Snakehips recently surpassed 1 billion streams across all platforms. The duo has performed at Lollapalooza and on “Jimmy Kimmy Live!” and has sold out five North American tours.

The concert is sponsored by UPC Nebraska and 106.3 KFRX.
