Josh Overocker joined the Office of Students Affairs as associate vice chancellor for student affairs. He started working in the new role February 26.

As a member of the Student Affairs senior team, Overocker will serve as the senior leadership responsible for all matters related to administration, finance and budget, human resources, facilities management, marketing and communications and assessment. Key responsibilities will include strategic planning for finance and administration, overseeing all budget processes in the Office of Student Affairs and related auxiliary services; and, when appropriate, developing and implementing fiscal or budgetary policy and procedure changes.

Overocker comes to Nebraska from the University of Central Oklahoma where he served in in progressively responsible roles. Most recently he served as the Assistant Vice President for Operations, overseeing and providing leadership for auxiliary units like housing, dining, a university center, transportation and parking services, card access and services and other related auxiliaries.

Overocker holds an Ed.D. from Creighton University. He earned his master’s degree in counseling psychology from University of Oklahoma and his bachelor’s in education from Elon University.
