Thursday, August 6, 2020 New for fall: Sign up for workout times at campus rec centers

Huskers need to reserve a workout time when wanting to exercise inside both the Campus Recreation Center and the Recreation & Wellness Center - a new procedure to keep you safe in the COVID era. Here’s how you make your reservation and more info on additional safety measures.

You can reserve a spot for the strength and conditioning rooms, lap swimming, group fitness classes and massage therapy.

50-minute time slots are available, and machines are spaced apart to allow for social distancing and for staff members to deep clean machines between each use by exercisers.

Follow these steps to reserve a workout time:

  1. Go to the Campus Recreation website and select which type of workout space you want to reserve.  Note: pay attention to the facility name you choose - Campus Rec Center is located on city campus; Rec & Wellness Center is located on east campus.
  2. Select the date and time you want to exercise on the interactive calendar. Click “Add to Cart” to move to the next step.
  3. You will be prompted to sign-in to finalize your chosen time and place selections. You can then view all your reservations in your shopping cart.

Face coverings/masks are not required to be worn while working out, however you must wear a mask when entering and exiting through the lobby, as well as in common areas throughout the buildings.

Shared spaces such as the locker rooms and saunas are closed until further notice. Towel service and equipment rentals (other than racquet sports) are unavailable at this time.
