A singular and pioneering voice in mental health advocacy Demetrius Harmon channels his experiences dealing with suicide and depression, sharing his journey candidly with his combined social audience of nearly 3 million followers. He provides visibility for those dealing with mental illness and uses his platform to uplift others.

At 7:30 p.m. March 11, 2021, Huskers have to chance to hear Harmon's personal story and message during a UNL-student exclusive Zoom session with the actor, comedian, poet and mental health advocate. The event is presented by UPC Nebraska and is free for UNL students who register to receive the event link.

During this virtual-only event, Harmon will create a positive and entertaining environment while sharing his talents with the UNL community. In the span of just seven short years, he has created comedy skits with poignant messages; led public speaking events across the United States; developed a successful apparel brand; and constructed a community meet-up series to be a safe space without judgment and bring his followers together.
