Info sessions discuss bridging student employment to classroom curriculum

Nebraska students walk by Howard Hawks Hall after snow fell earlier this semester. The university issues messages about winter-related closures via the UNL Alert system.

Husker GROW, a program designed to help students connect campus employment experiences to coursework and career aspirations, will host information sessions Dec. 11 and 12 for faculty and staff members interested in implementing the program in fall 2019.

More than 1,600 students are participating in the Husker GROW program through student employment and leadership roles within the Office of Student Affairs. The GROW program — which for guided reflection on work — uses brief structured conversations between student employees and their supervisors to help make learning from student employment more visible to students.

Information sessions are recommended for student employee supervisors or advisers to dedicated student volunteer roles. Sessions are 10 to 11 a.m. Dec. 11 and 2 to 3 p.m. Dec. 11 in the Nebraska Union Auditorium.

For more information about the program, send email to huskergrow@unl.edu.
