Eating Disorders Awareness Week, Feb. 22-25
The transition to college can be challenging. During difficult times, one’s coping strategies can be depleted, sometimes resulting in changes to control eating patterns and/or perception of appearance. During Eating Disorders Awareness Week, Feb. 22-25, the UNL Nebraska Eating Disorder Network Student Association (UNL NEDN) invites all Huskers to learn about the warning signs and available resources for disordered eating or eating disorder behaviors.

Black History Month: Breaking down barriers to mental health support
Each February the nation comes together to celebrate Black History Month. During this time, many Americans reflect on, celebrate and acknowledge the major roles Black Americans have played in the United States, both past as well as the present. Through this month-long recognition, challenges endured by Black Americans, particularly in their mental health and well-being, come into focus.

Counseling and Psychological Services at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln will host an event on “Developing an Understanding of Meaning and Purpose During Pandemic Times” from 3 to 4 p.m. Nov. 16 via Zoom.

For many, going home for the holidays comes with a huge sigh of relief as they revel in the joy of a concluded stressful semester. For LGBTQA+ students, this relief can be challenged by the anxiety of returning to non-affirming homes and uneasiness about the holiday season before them.
