July 13:  Student Involvement’s Annual Orientation for RSO Leaders covers SOFS Training; Student Involvement Services; Event Planning Guidelines and Policies (which includes but is not limited to securing trip insurance, registering events, contracts with vendors, reserving space on campus, etc.); NvolveU Training; and opportunity to collaborate with and meet other RSO leaders. This session starts at 3:30 p.m.  Pre-register to receive the Zoom info.

July 14:  Suicide Prevention “Conversession” for Students who have been through REACH and/or QPR suicide prevention training. Starting at 10:30 a.m., this 15-20 minute Zoom conversession will encourage listeners to ask questions that they can use to reach out to a friend, student, colleague, and/or family member.  Read more details and pre-register.

July 14:  Dish It Up is a lively weekly discussion about current and hot topics affecting students’ lives, the campus, and society in the United States and globally. Dish It Up is a safe space for students, staff, and faculty to share their personal views, engage in civil discussion, and learn from others. Join in 12–1 p.m. for engaging conversations with others on a variety of topics. You’ll also need to register to get the Zoom password.

July 15:  A panel discussion entitled Black Student Union: The Next Generation of Student Activism featuring University of Nebraska–Lincoln and University of California, Berkeley student leaders of the Black Student Union and Black Live Matters movement will be held for the public from 6 to 8 p.m. via Zoom.  Read more and get the Zoom link.

July 15: From 7 to 8 p.m., the Gratitude Group gives students the opportunity to learn ways that gratitude can help them strive for more positive experiences and emotions. Participants will build knowledge by hearing how gratitude can help to address depression and anxiety as well as by learning to develop methods to add gratitude to their daily life. Hosted by Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS).  Join in via Zoom.

July 18: The Lied’s summer concert series Music On The Move brings the music on a bicycle-powered stage to a new Lincoln neighborhood each Saturday, inviting you to dance on your balcony, porch, or front yard while local artists perform live. This week’s performance is by Edem Soul Music in the Near South Neighborhood (beginning at 20th & D St.) from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.  More details.
