Career Fair from Home: Helping Huskers Prepare for the Virtual Career Fair
August 31 & September 1 | 10 to 11:30 a.m. both days |  Virtual

To help Huskers prepare for the upcoming Virtual Career Fairs, Career Services is hosting two sessions of the new virtual event Career Fair from Home, with the purpose of helping talented UNL students have the most successful virtual Career Fair possible. Students will be able to navigate to 10-minute repeating sessions on topics related to engaging in a virtual Career Fair. Each session will be led by UNL Career Coaches and representatives from local employers.

Poster & Print Sale
August 31–September 4 | 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. |  Nebraska Union Plaza map

A week-long on-campus chance to purchase art, posters and media to create a positive and vibrant living space in your residence hall, apartment, chapter house, or personal residence. Free to browse & check out the art; purchases can be made with major credit cards, Venmo, and contactless card options.

Multicultural Greek 101
August 31 | 6 to 7:45 p.m. |  Virtual

Multicultural Greek 101 is a seminar to learn more about the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC). Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) serves as the governing body for eight culturally Greek-lettered sororities and fraternities. In order to obtain membership into any of these organization's you must attend a Multicultural  Greek 101 session. Registration required.

Virtual Huskers Abroad 101 Session

Interested in going abroad but don’t know where to start? Attend a Huskers Abroad 101 session to take the first step toward going abroad. This session will cover researching program options, selecting a program, funding and the timeline for the process. Pre-registration is required. Additional sessions are 4:30 p.m. September 2 and 2 p.m. September 3.

Join a lively weekly discussion about current and hot topics affecting students’ lives, the campus, and society in the United States and globally. Dish It Up is a safe space for students, staff, and faculty to share their personal views, engage in civil discussion, and learn from others.

Husker Civic Challenge Fair
September 1 | 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. |  Virtual

Connect with opportunities to serve in the Lincoln community at the Husker Civic Challenge Fair. Over 60 area nonprofits plan to attend the first virtual fair. You can peruse the organizations, select the organizations you would like to learn more about, and register for a time slot to visit with the volunteer coordinator. Prior to the day of the event, instructions and Zoom addresses will be sent to registrants. If you are fulfilling a service-learning course requirement, looking for an RSO community service site, and/or wanting to continue civic engagement, the virtual Husker Civic Challenge Fair is for you.

Sustainability Summit 2020: The Intersections of Climate Change

September 3 | 6 to 8 p.m. |  Virtual

The Office of Sustainability will explore the intersections of climate change and systemic racism. Learn the history of systemic racism in the United States and the environmental movement’s exclusion of marginalized voices. Through conversation with UNL students who have firsthand experience living with and organizing around these issues we will paint a picture of how intersectional advocacy and solutions can create positive change on our campus and in our communities. The event includes a short video sharing the story of the North Omaha coal plant and how the community came together to shut it down. Followed by an interactive panel discussion.  Registration required.

Art Under the Stars

September 4 | 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. | Sheldon Museum of Art map

Be inspired to create a DIY craft masterpiece surrounded by the indoor and outdoor exhibits at the Sheldon Museum of Art. Art supplies are available for Huskers to create their own personal frisbee artwork to take home. Original paintings will be created on-site by a local artist and given away as door prizes; music and Kona Ice treats will round out a wonderful evening for you and your friends.
